Walking the Quiet Path

The Forest was my First Teacher

Silence my second,
Grief my third,
Love the one that keeps returning.

For years, I practiced alone — reading, praying, meditating in small cabins and winter light. Eventually, others began to join me.

What grew was not a program, but a circle.

Now I share what has helped me live with an open heart: stillness, mantra, writing, ritual, and the simple courage to be present.

If you feel called to slow down, to listen more deeply, to remember who you are beneath the noise — I would be honoured to walk with you.

Ceremonies for Life’s Milestones

Wedding Ceremonies

Muskoka wedding ceremonies are intimate and deeply personal, thoughtfully shaped with each couple and rooted in kindness and intention. Set among forests and lakes, they gently invite you to slow down, reflect, and begin married life with clarity, compassion, and meaningful connection together.

Celebration of Life

Funeral and memorial ceremonies in Muskoka are gentle and compassionate, created with family and loved ones to honour a life with care and presence. Often held in nature, they offer simple ritual and quiet reflection, allowing grief and gratitude to be held together in a calm, heartfelt farewell.

Seasonal Events

Seasonal gatherings in Muskoka mark solstices, equinoxes, and times of renewal with simple ritual and reflection. Rooted in Buddhist teachings and often held outdoors, they invite you to pause, let go with grace, and welcome each season with mindful presence and quiet joy.

Reflections: Like a Moon on Water

The Reflections Blog is a contemplative space written by Pat Bush from the lived experience of a Tibetan Buddhist nun. These essays explore themes such as:

  • happiness as a daily practice

  • faith as an evolving relationship

  • doubt, devotion, and everyday wisdom

Rather than instructing, the writings invite quiet reflection, honest questions, and a gentle curiosity about the spiritual life as it unfolds.

  • "Pat is a longtime friend and a beautiful soul whose deep connection to the earth and spirit can be felt in every aspect of her offerings. Attending Pat’s New Moon Women’s Circle and meditations have been truly grounding and heart-opening experiences. What makes Pat’s work so special is her authenticity and presence—she holds space with such grace, warmth, and intuition. You can feel her love and reverence for the land and the spiritual path in all she shares. If you’re looking to connect to your spirituality and bring yourself closer to the natural world, I can’t recommend her offerings enough."

  • "Patricia and I met about two and a half years ago - we shared similar interests and loved to learn from each other. Patricia guided the Full Moon meditation ritual in a community centre - where we all gathered to share our thoughts, feelings and introspect on what helps us to be ourselves. Many other guided meditations by Patricia - and every person present is involved and everyone has an opportunity to share their practice and spread Peace, Joy, Happiness- not only that also taking care of nutrition- to enhance our lives. Thanks, Patricia, for patiently guiding and growing the circle of love and hope in this world and spreading peace. Thanks for being a part of my life - looking forward to many more sessions of meditating together. Thanks for being so gentle. Love and hugs from the Universe "

  • "Patricia Bush organized the spiritual and ceremonial aspects of our wedding and also officiated the ceremony itself. She bought her deep, multi-denominational knowledge and understanding to create a traditional handfasting ritual. She educated us and our guests about the meaning behind each element, helping everyone feel connected and included. Our ceremony took place in our family forest — a place already so dear to me — but Patricia made it truly special. Together, we planned the ceremony in advance; she listened carefully to our wishes and shared her ideas so that the traditions reflected us perfectly. On the day, Patricia invited everyone to welcome the spirits of the East, West, North, and South. Patricia guided the handfasting with calm confidence and heartfelt care. It was a beautiful day, made all the more meaningful by her guidance, wisdom, and presence."
